I have found that gaffer tape can sometimes prevent the tyre from seating as it is normally wider than a rim tape and creates too much friction between the tyre and rim.
Either way, I would recommend pushing the tyre down bit by bit away from the rim seat and pouring soap (fairy) down tha gap around the circumferance, both sides, then pop some air throught tha valve.
If you have a rubber mallet handy. _________________ Skunky

It may be worth a go with some tyre soap, I did say just ride it but he says it doesn't feel right but I knew thats how they feel.
Don't use fairy as it contains salts and will eat the aluminium rim.
I used gaffer tape as it's easy to par down to the right width. _________________ KTM 690 Enduro R, I think it could of been made by Carlsberg,"Frederick" Le Tracture

You beat me to it.
I use WD40.
When I fitted my mousses I fitted the valve part only of an old inner tube and made a rubber washer to seal around the rim hole (Ooeerr missus) inside and out. Then take the valve core out and blast full air pressure in to it. Once seated I put the valve core back in just to help keep water out? |
